Multiple media outlets are reporting that Shaquille Cleare, a 6-foot-9, 285-pound post man from The Village School (Houston, Texas), has made a verbal commitment to Maryland.

Cleare, a native of The Bahamas ranked No. 25 in the MaxPreps Class of 2012 Top 100, has long been considered a Terrapin lean. He joins 6-2 shooting guard Seth Allen of Fredericksburg Christian (Fredericksburg, Va.) in new head coach Mark Turgeon's initial class at Maryland.

In West Virginia, Huntington Prep head coach Rob Fulford confirmed that 7-foot-4, 355-pound center Sim Bhullar has de-committed from Xavier and is now headed to New Mexico State.

"Xavier is a great program and we are so appreciative of all the time they spent recruiting my brother," Bhullar's sister Anveet told FlagrantFouls.com. "Sim has some unique clearinghouse issues that have forced us to really examine the best course of action for Sim's future."

New Mexico State's 2011-12 roster will feature five Canadians, as well as two players from France and one from South Africa.

Bhullar is not ranked in MaxPreps.com's 2012 Top 100 but can be a game-changer at times with his ability to eat space and redirect opponents attacking the rim. Xavier has 2012 commitments from two other post players – 6-8 James Farr of Evanston, Ill., and 6-9 Jalen Reynolds of Livonia, Mich. – that will join the program after spending the 2011-12 season at prep schools in the Northeast.
