Baseball Recap: Columbus Finds Home Field Redemption Against Killian

There's no place like home for Columbus, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the Killian Cougars on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Explorers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Columbus got a great performance from Jason Vazquez as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Jose Correa was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Maximus Alvarez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Columbus now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Killian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Columbus will face off against Palmetto at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Killian, they will challenge Coral Park at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
