Volleyball Recap: Alameda Takes a Loss

Alameda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to The Pinnacle Timberwolves. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Timberwolves from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Alameda ultimately came up short, they really made The Pinnacle work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-0, 25-0, 27-25.

Liliana Casias paced Alameda's offense, picking up six kills. Casias got some help from Camila Ortiz and her 11 assists. Jimena Casta?o Velasquez controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for The Pinnacle, they moved to 4-11 with that win, which also ended their six-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Alameda is set to square off against their familiar foe Arrupe Jesuit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, The Pinnacle will face off against rival Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
