Basketball Recap: Venus Comes Up Short

Venus lost against Kennedale back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Venus Bulldogs had to suffer through a 82-47 loss at the hands of the Kennedale Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 689th, while the Wildcats are ranked 93rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Venus and nudges their season record down to 13-17. As for Kennedale, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 26-7.

Looking ahead, Venus will square off against Ferris at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kennedale, they will challenge Canton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Kennedale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Canton likes a good challenge.
