Basketball Recap: Rubidoux Comes Up Short

Rubidoux lost against Norte Vista back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rubidoux Falcons were beaten by the Norte Vista Braves 102-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

Norte Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryan Ramirez led the charge by going 12 of 24 on his way to 29 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Those 29 points gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Fulton, who posted 29 points along with five assists and three steals.

Rubidoux has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Norte Vista, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-6.

Rubidoux will take on Ramona at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Ramona's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 games. As for Norte Vista, they will square off against La Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for La Sierra: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Norte Vista has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
