Volleyball Recap: Yorkville Christian Comes Up Short

Yorkville Christian lost against Coal City back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Coalers.

Coal City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keirsten Gabehart, who had five aces. Those five aces gave Gabehart a new career-high.

Yorkville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Coal City, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Yorkville Christian has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 draw against Illinois Math & Science Academy on the 30th. As for Coal City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Ottawa on the 30th.
