Basketball Recap: B O L D Comes Up Short

B O L D was the 62-53 winner over Melrose when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The B O L D Warriors fell to the Melrose Dutchmen 63-59. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Dutchmen are ranked 266th).

When it comes to explaining why B O L D lost on Friday, don't look at Jack Gross. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 14 to rack up 23 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Hudson Vosika was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for B O L D and nudges their season record down to 12-8. As for Melrose, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-16.

Looking ahead, B O L D will challenge Minneota at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. B O L D knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Minneota likes a good challenge. As for Melrose, they will host Legacy Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
