Softball Recap: Peotone Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Peotone won the last time they faced Lisle and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 4-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Lisle's batters probably weren't too happy with Sophie Klawitter, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 18 Ks (she gave up three walks). Klawitter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Peotone's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jillian Roark, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Roark has posted since back in April. Another was Mary Klawitter, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Peotone's record is now 10-13. As for Lisle, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Peotone will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
