Baseball Recap: Gonzaga Prep Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Gonzaga Prep won the last time they faced Ferris and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bullpups put the hurt on the Saxons with a sharp 14-4 win. The Bullpups might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Cole Harvey looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson Mott and Lars Bazler did most of the damage at the plate: Mott went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Bazler went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Bazler has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Gonzaga Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Ferris, their record now sits at 7-15.

As of now, neither Gonzaga Prep nor the Saxons have any future games scheduled.
