Baseball Recap: Pomfret School Griffins vs. Berkshire School Bears

While Pomfret School didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Berkshire School Bears by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday. For the Griffins, this counts as revenge for the 9-0 victory the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Carson Ames made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ames was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Seth Duerden tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Mason Gordon and Shep Wilcox did most of the damage at the plate: Gordon scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Wilcox scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
