League recap: Falfurrias stuns Bishop in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Falfurrias, who took down 800th ranked Bishop, 34-6.

The Bulls scaled the state rankings by moving to 701 from 827 this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region IV District 16. Falfurrias was able to move up by besting the Badgers 34-6.

Odem's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Everett threw for 201 and 3 touchdowns and Dylan Ceballos had 82 yards receiving. On the ground Derek Candela contributed 139 yards. Zach Morales helped Odem's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 34 yards.

The Owls' dynamic duo of Everett and Ceballos proved tough for Aransas Pass to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Morales helped Odem's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 34 yards.

Monte Garcia made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bishop lost to Max McGehee's team. He racked up 1 sack.

He went 16-39 with 4 interceptions.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Odem's CJ Romero and Morales have proven to be a lethal combination. Romero has thrown for 675 yards this season, while Morales has 13 catches for 281 yards. Nate Gant from George Luna's team leads the league in rushing with 544 yards.

The Badgers' offense has scored 233 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while San Diego has allowed only 57 on the year.

The Panthers are in third place, while Santa Rosa is in fifth place.

The Bulls took down Bishop 34-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
