Volleyball Recap: Cedar Bluffs Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

If Buena Vista wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cedar Bluffs, they should've done a better job of containing Jaydyn Bittinger. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Bison 3-2 for which the team can thank Bittinger, who had nine digs and five aces. She also put up an assist, which was her first of the season.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Cedar Bluffs who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 18-25, 25-19, 27-29, 17-15.

Despite the loss, Buena Vista still got an impressive performance from Lisette Esteban, who had 16 digs and six aces. Esteban is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Galilea Galvan, who had nine digs and one assist.

Cedar Bluffs' win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Buena Vista, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Cedar Bluffs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against College View Academy on the 30th. As for Buena Vista, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Omaha South on the 30th.
