Baseball Recap: Western Guilford Comes Up Short

Western Guilford had lost eight straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-17 to make it nine. They lost 13-0 to the Ragsdale Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 15-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Ragsdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games.

For Ragsdale's part, the team relied heavily on Ryan Hendricks, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Camden McGill, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Coming up, Ragsdale will square off against Southwest Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.2, the Cowboys 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Western Guilford will be paying especially close attention to Ragsdale's game: after Ragsdale faces off against Southwest Guilford, they'll take on Western Guilford again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
