Baseball Recap: Webber Comes Up Short

Webber extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They came up short against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Notre Dame, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season.

For Notre Dame's part, Liam Berger made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Berger has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chase Antinore was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carson Daniels, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Webber does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Notre Dame, they will face off against Oakfield-Alabama at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
