Basketball Recap: Salem Gets the Win

While Salem has struggled on the road with eight straight losses, that wasn't the case on Thursday thanks to Nye Turner. The Salem Rocks walked away with a 52-42 win over the Churchill Chargers thanks in part to Turner, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 boards. He has become a key player for Salem: the team is undefeated when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 3-14 otherwise.

Ezekiel Chinyazada was another key player, putting up 12 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Salem's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Churchill, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-12.

Coming up, Salem will head out to square off against Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Salem is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for Churchill, they will take on Stevenson in a tournament on Monday.
