Baseball Recap: Springfield Find Success

Springfield's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Greenbrier Bobcats by a score of 7-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Springfield's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Goodfred, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. The Yellow Jackets are 2-1 when Goodfred posts two or more runs, but 9-13 otherwise. Another was Barrett Reynolds, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Greenbrier, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

As of now, neither Springfield nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
