Basketball Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the South Summit Wildcats 59-15. The Scots have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ben Lomond's loss came despite strong showings from Aleia Huff and Claudia Avina. Huff posted five points, while Avina put up no points. Brandie Pena also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

It was another big night for Emma Broadbent, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 boards for South Summit. The game was Broadbent's 29th in a row with at least ten points. Mariah Bowen was another key player, putting up 13 points and five steals.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for South Summit, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

Ben Lomond will welcome Union at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Summit, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Summit Wildcats face off against the Ogden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Summit is facing Ogden at the right time seeing as Ogden is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
