Baseball Recap: Atholton Takes a Loss

Atholton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-2 to the Glenelg Gladiators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Joshua Whiting put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Whiting was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Whiting wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Martin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Atholton's loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atholton will venture away from home to square off against Centennial at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenelg, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Marriotts Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
