Ravenscroft took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Wake Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Ravens came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Thursday, sneaking past 10-9. This was a revenge game for the Ravens: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in March, they had to take a 30-20 defeat.

Audriana Gaught spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on six hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Macie Mackinnon and Cole MacKinnon did most of the damage at the plate: Mackinnon scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while MacKinnon scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Mackinnon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Jesi Porfirio was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Ravenscroft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Ravenscroft's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Wake Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Ravenscroft will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Durham Academy at 4:15 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Wake Christian Academy, they will face off against Harrells Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
