Soccer Game Preview: Manor New Tech vs. Taylor

Manor New Tech is 1-9 against Taylor since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Manor New Tech will square off against the Taylor Ducks at 7:15 p.m. Taylor took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Manor New Tech, who comes in off a win.

If Manor New Tech beats Taylor with two goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Manor New Tech beat C.H. Yoe by a goal, winning 2-1. Given Manor New Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 234th, while C.H. Yoe is ranked 547th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Taylor managed to keep up with Salado until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Taylor came up short against Salado, falling 4-0. The loss continues a trend for the Ducks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Manor New Tech has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those eight matches. As for Taylor, they now have a losing record at 4-5-1.

Manor New Tech skirted past Taylor 1-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manor New Tech since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
