Basketball Recap: Calvert's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Calvert entered their tilt with Hopewell-Loudon on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victor by a 59-38 margin over the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains. The Senecas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Calvert to victory were Gavin Wagner and Grady Otterbacher. Wagner dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Otterbacher went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points along with six assists and three blocks. Wagner's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Logan Ritzler was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Calvert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9.

Calvert will square off against St. Mary Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hopewell-Loudon, they will take on Lakota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
