Football Recap: Azle Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Friday, Azle Christian came back down to earth. The Fighting Crusaders were dealt a 43-13 loss at the hands of the Faustina Academy Falcons on Friday. If the Fighting Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 34-6 to the Falcons when the teams met back in September of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Azle Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Grayson Smith, who picked up 125 receiving yards and two TDs, and Nemo Crowell, who threw for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Azle Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Faustina Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Azle Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 61-25 victory against Garland Christian Academy on the 12th. As for Faustina Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 50-0 win against CHANT HomeSchool on the 12th.
