Plainfield North is 7-1 against Plainfield South since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will host the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Plainfield North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Oswego, who was ranked sixth at the time (Plainfield North was ranked 16th). The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Saturday. Plainfield North's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield South took on Oswego on Tuesday. The Cougars lost 5-1 to the Panthers. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Plainfield South were already down 3-0.

Plainfield North's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Plainfield South, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Plainfield North got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Plainfield South by a conclusive 4-0 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
