Cocoa's Bruce Judson recorded the longest rushing play in 4A District 5 this season in his game against Space Coast last week. Judson scampered for 72 yards on the play and finished with 237 on the day as his team defeated the Vipers.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Cocoa beat Space Coast 49-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the John Wilkinson's team.
The Tigers' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Judson threw for 107 and 2 touchdowns and Jamel Dean had 96 yards receiving. On the ground Judson chipped in 237 yards. Kevin Troutman helped Cocoa's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.
Cocoa's dynamic duo of Judson and Dean proved tough for Jake Owens' team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Troutman helped Cocoa's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.
Judson was a force in the backfield as the Tigers topped the Vipers.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Space Coast's Nick Rittenhouse and Alec Dansereau have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Rittenhouse has thrown for 1,804 yards this season, while Dansereau has 54 catches for 764 yards. Lorrenzo Pratt from Cocoa leads the league in rushing with 1,005 yards.
Going into this week's contest against Viera, the Vipers' Rittenhouse needs 196 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The Tigers are currently in first, while Atlantic is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Cocoa takes on the Sharks. The Tigers have allowed 78 points this season, while Atlantic has given up 145. Cocoa allowed 7 points last week as it defeated Space Coast.
The Vipers lost to the Tigers 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Rittenhouse threw for 177 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 15 yards in the loss.
