Football Recap: Brunswick Takes a Loss

Brunswick played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 51-13 loss at the hands of the Saint James Saints. The Railroaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Jayden Yates was his usual excellent self, throwing for 164 yards and four TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 85 yards and one touchdown for Saint James. Those four passing touchdowns gave Yates a new career-high. Marcello Anderson was another key player, gaining 103 total yards and three touchdowns.

Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Saint James, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Brunswick and Saint James could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings. The Railroaders will face off against Middletown at 6:30 p.m. on the 10th with a big rank disadvantage (109 vs. 25). Meanwhile, Saint James (ranked 51st) will meet Maret (ranked eighth) at 1:00 p.m. on the 11th.
