Softball Recap: Ferndale Comes Up Short

Ferndale was the 21-17 winner over Anacortes when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Eagles fell 12-9 to the Seahawks on Tuesday.

Kaelin Blakley led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Swan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Ferndale has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Anacortes, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Ferndale will welcome Sehome at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles are facing the Mariners at the right time seeing as the Mariners are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Anacortes, they will square off against Bellingham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
