Baseball Recap: Alamosa Takes a Loss

Monte Vista hit Alamosa with a seven-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mean Moose fell 15-11 to the Pirates. The Mean Moose were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Jonah Pittman led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Foster Boyd also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Alamosa and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Monte Vista, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Alamosa has already played their next matchup, a 20-0 win against Pagosa Springs on the 11th. As for Monte Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 23-0 victory against Center on the 11th.
