Baseball Recap: Winn Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Winn waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the South San Antonio Bobcats. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in February, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Winn pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for South San Antonio, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Winn is set to challenge their familiar foe MacArthur at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Winn 3.7, MacArthur 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, South San Antonio will square off against rival Southwest Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
