Softball Recap: Brush Beetdiggers vs. Eagle Valley Devils
Brush kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Eagle Valley Devils, falling 11-3. The loss leaves the Beetdiggers without a win on the season.
Brisa Aguirre-Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Haedynn Epple, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
Even though they lost, Brush hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eagle Valley struck out ten times.
The win (which was Eagle Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Brush didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 defeat vs. Severance on the 24th. Eagle Valley has also already played their next matchup, a 12-10 victory against Mountain View on the 23rd.
