Softball Recap: Gladstone Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Gladstone, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Menominee Maroons on Wednesday by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won six in a row.

Tia Schone made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Lauren Sundquist was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Lauren Pare, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Gladstone lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Gladstone's record now sits at 22-2. As for Menominee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
