Softball Recap: Lincoln's Undefeated Season over After Ten Games

If Lincoln was riding high fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Pleasant Hope on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Versailles Tigers by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lincoln fell to 9-1. As for Versailles, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will head out to face off against Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Versailles, they will venture away from home to challenge Warsaw at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 0.2 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
