After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Alameda, Bishop O'Dowd was happy to have turned things around  on Wednesday. They blew past the Encinal Jets 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won eight matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Emma Brown tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 15 consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Jaella Mercado, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. She has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last six times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ziggy Savage, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run.
Bishop O'Dowd has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Encinal,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-15.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bishop O'Dowd is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Castro Valley  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Encinal will  face off against  rival Alameda  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
