Baseball Recap: Ansonia Comes Up Short

Ansonia's last matchup with New Bremen could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Tigers lost 6-0 to the Cardinals. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Ansonia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cainan Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Asher Shives also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Ansonia and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for New Bremen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ansonia will head out to face off against Twin Valley South at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for New Bremen, they are taking a road trip to square off against Versailles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 2.5, the Tigers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
