Basketball Game Preview: Primero Bulldogs vs. Granada Bobcats

The Primero Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Granada Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Primero is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sierra Grande last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Primero took a blow against Sierra Grande, falling 72-43. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Primero had strong showings from Johnnalynn Baca Bowie, who shot 73% from the field to rack up 16 points, and Aimee Mincic, who posted eight points and five steals. With that strong performance, Mincic is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Meanwhile, Granada suffered their biggest loss since February 7th on Friday. They were outmatched by Stratton and fell 55-24. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Eagles are ranked 48th).

Primero's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Granada, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.
