Carl Hayden Community had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Fairfax Stampede 74-71. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Carl Hayden Community found their leader in freshman Azariah Reetz, who went 7-for-8 en route to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Davion Rhymes, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 14 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Fairfax is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Carl Hayden Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-30 victory against Washington on the 21st.
