Soccer Recap: Sahuaro Comes Up Short

Sahuaro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the Salpointe Catholic Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Lancers are ranked third).

Sahuaro's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Salpointe Catholic, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sahuaro has already played their next matchup (against Walden Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Salpointe Catholic will challenge Nogales at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Salpointe Catholic knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Nogales likes a good challenge.
