Basketball Recap: Teelan Kjerstad's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wall over Hill City

Wall lost against Hill City back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wall Eagles took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hill City Rangers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teelan Kjerstad, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Kjerstad's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Mohr, who went 7 for 17 en route to 17 points.

Even though they lost, Wall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Wall's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Hill City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Wall didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-69 defeat against Lyman on the 1st. As for Hill City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-51 victory against Alcester-Hudson on the 1st.
