Soccer Recap: Middlesex Comes Up Short

If Middlesex was riding high fresh off their 5-2 takedown of King William last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers came up short against the West Point Pointers on Monday, falling 6-1. Middlesex were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than four goals in the four matchups prior), but West Point's defense proved too tough.

The loss snapped Middlesex's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 9-7 record. As for West Point, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1.

Middlesex will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mathews at 5:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for West Point, they will welcome Poquoson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Point will need to watch out since Poquoson have now posted at least four goals in their last five matches.
