Basketball Game Preview: Sherrard Tigers vs. Princeton Tigers

Sherrard is 3-0 against Princeton since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Sherrard Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Princeton Tigers at 2:30 p.m.

Sherrard is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 66 points last Thursday, they were much more limited against Riverdale on Thursday. They lost 46-20 to the Rams. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Princeton). They blew past Mendota 65-28 on Thursday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 28 points or more this season.

The win (which was Princeton's third in a row) raised their record to 14-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Sherrard, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 17-4.

Sherrard beat Princeton 41-28 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sherrard since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
