Volleyball Recap: Greenville's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After a string of six wins, Greenville's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Van Vandals by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Greenville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-23, 25-18.

Caitlyn Teague paced Greenville's offense, picking up 18 kills. Teague got some help from Carlee Tippit and her 24 assists. Jaxey Walker controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Van, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will challenge Caddo Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van, they will square off against Bullard at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
