Baseball Recap: Springboro's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Springboro dropped their record down to 15-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Badin Rams. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Springboro got a good showing from Bodie Abbott, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Springboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Cane, who went 1-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Cane has hit this season.

As for Badin, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs.

On Badin's side, Brooks Treadway looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Treadway has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Austin Vangen, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits he has posted over his last ten matches.

Looking ahead, Springboro will challenge Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Badin, they will face off against Elder at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
