The Purnell Swett Rams had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Douglas Byrd by a score of 66-53 on Friday. Purnell Swett's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Collin Sampson, who scored 30 points along with three steals. Timothy Locklear was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals.

Purnell Swett's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Douglas Byrd, their loss was their 17th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Purnell Swett will take on Lumberton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lumberton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Douglas Byrd, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seventy-First at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Seventy-First's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
