Basketball Game Preview: Clarksdale Wildcats vs. West Point Green Wave

The Clarksdale Wildcats will head out to take on the West Point Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksdale will be strutting in after a victory while West Point will be coming in after a defeat.

Clarksdale will bounce into Friday's game after beating Lafayette, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Clarksdale managed a 46-40 win over Lafayette on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, West Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 64-11 loss at the hands of Pontotoc. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Warriors are ranked 17th).

Clarksdale's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for West Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Clarksdale came out on top in a nail-biter against West Point in their previous meeting last Tuesday, sneaking past 34-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clarksdale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
