Football Recap: Victory Christian Comes Up Short

Victory Christian had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it five. They took a blow against Cornerstone Christian, falling 48-0. If Victory Christian was looking for revenge after losing 56-12 to Cornerstone Christian when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Cornerstone Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1. That 48 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Cornerstone Christian had a senior duo take command as Colby Harrison gained 189 total yards and two touchdowns and Tristan Girou rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. Harrison got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 68 yards. Jess Nelson was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and two scores.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Victory Christian will square off against rival Tabernacle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Jacksonville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
