Basketball Recap: Voyager Academy Skates Past Vance Charter with Ease

Voyager Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They breezed by the Vance Charter Knights to the tune of 81-54. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Voyager Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carlos Green, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lionel McCullough III, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points and five assists.

Voyager Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gary Wilkins, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Pentoney, who had 12 points.

The victory got Voyager Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Vance Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-3.

Voyager Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-46 win against Oxford Prep on the 13th. As for Vance Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-52 victory against Falls Lake on the 12th.
