Recap: Oakcrest Falcons vs. Haddon Heights Garnets
On Friday, Oakcrest didn't have quite enough to beat Haddon Heights and fell 14-12.
The team lost despite holding Haddon Heights to a paltry no rushing yards and no passing yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Oakcrest's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Haddon Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Harris, who rushed for 14 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 126 yards and a touchdown.
Oakcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Haddon Heights, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Oakcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Haddon Heights will square off against Rumson-Fair Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rumson-Fair Haven presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Haddon Heights in New Jersey (Rumson-Fair Haven is ranked 33rd, while Haddon Heights is ranked 109th).
