Volleyball Game Preview: Rising Sun Shiners vs. Lawrenceburg Tigers

Rising Sun hasn't had much luck against Lawrenceburg recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Shiners will face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Rising Sun is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

On Thursday, Rising Sun beat South Decatur 3-1.

While Rising Sun might've won, it sure wasn't easy: South Decatur scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 15-25, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Bri Sams, who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high.

Rising Sun was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Lawrenceburg came up short against Holy Cross on Monday and fell 3-1.

Rising Sun's record is now 15-10. As for Lawrenceburg, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Rising Sun suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lawrenceburg in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Shiners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
