Basketball Recap: Charlevoix Takes a Loss

Charlevoix was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 33-23 to the Elk Rapids Elks. While losing is never fun, the Rayders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while the Elks are ranked 234th).

Charlevoix's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Elk Rapids, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Charlevoix is taking a road trip to square off against Cheboygan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elk Rapids, they will be playing at home against Boyne City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
