Soccer Recap: Matanzas Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Matanzas can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mandarin Mustangs by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Pirates have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Matanzas' goal came courtesy of Tim Shestakov, who's now up to seven this season.

Matanzas' loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Mandarin, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Matanzas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mandarin, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Bartram Trail on the 12th.
