Softball Game Preview: Mansfield Christian Flames vs. Central Christian Comets

For the second straight game, Mansfield Christian will face off against Central Christian. The Flames will be playing in front of their home fans against the Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Mansfield Christian turned things around against Central Christian on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Comets 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Flames have posted since April 15, 2024.

For Central Christian's part, Micah Kozel Steiner put in work no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Kozel Steiner was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Edisa Plants was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Central Christian is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. As for Mansfield Christian, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-10.
